From mooring ropes for deep-sea oil and gas platforms to special fabrics for space exploration, from life-saving lines in emergency rescue to flexible terminals for smart wearables, the rope and net industry, with its posture of "small fibers driving a big industry", is occupying an increasingly crucial position in the global industrial chain.

With the rapid development of the global Marine economy, high-end equipment manufacturing and new energy industries, the rope (cable) net industry has demonstrated great potential in emerging fields such as deep-sea mooring, intelligent equipment and safety protection. To enhance the innovative functions of the domestic rope (cable) and net industry, and to facilitate the sustainable development and rapid transformation and upgrading of the industry, the 5th International Rope and Net Conference 2025, with the theme of "Rope Intelligence Deep Blue, Net Unveiling the Future", was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province on June 13, 2025.

More than 160 experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from the upstream and downstream of the rope and net industry chain, research institutions and end users attended the meeting, including Li Lingshen, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, Li Guimei, president of the China Industrial Textile Association, Shen Ming, president of the Rope and Net Branch of the China Industrial Textile Association, and other relevant leaders.

This conference is hosted by the China Industrial Textile Association, and organized by the Rope (Cable) Network Branch of the Association, Qingdao Hailiya Group Co., LTD., Qingdao University, and Haijian Testing Co., LTD. It is co-organized by the National Marine Equipment Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Shandong) and Jiaolong (Qingdao) Rope and Cable Testing and Certification Co., LTD.

The meeting was held concurrently with the fifth council meeting of the second term of the Rope (Cable) Net Branch of the Middle Industry Association. At the meeting, Shen Ming, the president of the Rope (Cable) Net Branch of the Middle Industry Association, delivered the work report of this council meeting. The representatives attending the meeting discussed and exchanged views on key issues such as the current operation status of the rope and net industry, policy support, standard construction, and green development.
